Farewell, North America!

What an awesome week! This week we have a special post for you, our first one written by your first graders! Enjoy!

We learned the word predator. -Krishelle


We read in the grass with our third grade buddies. -Mihir


We learned about black bears. Black bears have flat feet for balance. -Sophia D.

We learned about skunks. Offspring or kits follow their mom in a line. -Lilliana

We learned about the word omnivore. An omnivore is an animal that eats meat and plants. -Ginger

We watched an amazing movie, Brother Bear. -Noora

We decorated our new notebooks. -Ella

We took all of the pictures and charts from North America down. We get to take them home! -Oscar

We learned about all the ways you can make ten. -Savannah

We wrote in our new notebooks. -Brielle

We learned a new word, inspirationsomething that excites you and makes you want to do something. -Sam
*Our heart maps will give us inspiration for writing all year long!

We learned about an ocean that you (our parents) didn't, the Southern Ocean. And we have a flat screen TV. -Carson

Ms. D read us a brand new Elephant and Piggie book. -Logan

We learned the word mimic. It means to copy. -Alexis

Humans mimic skunks when they use bug repellent. -Sophia M.

We read a story called 101 Reasons Why I'm Not Taking a Bath. -Aiden

Oscar's dad is named Oscar and he was the mystery reader. -Jacob

We read Snappsy the Alligator and Miss Kloczko had to read in a funny voice when she was the narrator. -Gino


Next week we are learning about Asia. That's Aiden's favorite continent. -Jonah

We have a chart that tells us how to get ready for writing time. -Owen

During workshop, one of our jobs was to "build and add" with linking cubes.


Also during workshop this week, we illustrated one of our North America chants.

We watched the math digital challenge videos made by our classmates!


For Kind Kids Club with Ms. Hines, we decorated kindness capes for the kindergarteners!

We had such a fun week! I already can't wait to see everyone on Monday, to start learning about Asia together, and to see more of these kids' amazing writing! Have a great weekend, everyone! Enjoy the fall-ish weather! :)
